After questions about final score discrepancies surfaced in some Log Checking Reports from the 2008 RTTY Roundup, the ARRL has moved tore-score that contest, posting the new electronic results on its web site.
"After a bit of digging, we discovered a couple of DX multipliers that were listed incorrectly," said ARRL Contest Manager Sean Kutzko.
"This required a re-running of the numbers," he added in a post of his Contest Branch Blog.
The new scores did shift some finishing positions, but the overall winners are the same now as they were after the initial log checks by the ARRL.
P49X (W0YK) won the Single Op High Power category; AA5AU kept his 14th consecutive World Low Power victory; and Team CT9M was still the multi-op winner.
"Scores have gone up slightly," Kutzko said, "you may notice an increase of <1% from the score originally posted."
It was more than that for the top Single Operator, as Ed Muns P49X (W0YK) was originally credited with a winning score of 338,198, but that went up to 345,992 once the contest was re-scored by the ARRL.
The scoring change did shake up the High Power top ten, as James Sharp W5AP saw his score get 4,000 points worse, as he tumbled from 4th place to 8th in SOHP.
There was no immediate explanation as to why W5AP lost ground, while most other entrants saw their scores increase as the contest was re-scored.
Also changing places in the high power top ten were G6PZ and AI9T, as 'PZ moved from 7th to 6th overall.
There was also a bit of a change in the multi-op ranks, as four teams saw their placing shift after the ARRL scores were revised.
After re-scoring, W4RM moved from 6th to 5th, as they went from an over 900 point deficit to a 500 point advantage over K4TD.
9th and 10th place also changed hands, as OL6X moved up to 9th best multi in the World, while W7WW slipped to 10th overall.
The revisions also changed many of the bottom line score reductions for those in the 2008 ARRL RTTY Roundup.
