Signals may have been solid one second and gone the next, but that didn't show up in the logs of the winners in the 2007 ARRL 10 Meter Contest.
One category winner even had a "golden log" as Kevin Matheny W1KLM won the SSB QRP competition aced every one of his 115 QSO's from Arkansas to give himself a victory.
The other QRP winners weren't so shabby either, as Tony Radebaugh N0NI won Mixed QRP while losing only 1.46% of his score and Dale Martin KG5U won CW QRP while dropping only 1.04% of his claimed score.
The High Power big shots had few errors in their logs as well. Richard King K5NA lost 1.14% of his claimed score in CW HP, just edging out Ken Harker WM5R, who was docked only 1.18% of his score from K5TR in SSB HP.
The Mixed HP winner, Scott Jasper NE9U, didn't fare as well as those two, but his commanding lead more than absorbed his 3.12% score reduction after log checks.
The top overall single op score in the 2007 10 Meter contest wasn't from the High Power ranks, but came from a low power station, as Tom Johnson WD5K ran up just over 348,000 points.
K5NA was the second best single op at 309k.
WD5K also led the way for the Low Power crew in terms of log checks, as he was knocked down only 0.9%, as he claimed 351,648 and ended up with 348,480.
Johnson lost only four contacts out of the 1,203 he claimed.
The other two low power winners were at the back of the pack when it came to log checks for 2007 10 meter titleists.
Bob Beaudoin WA1FCN triumphed in CW LP while losing 4.5% of his score. Charles Frost K5LBU won SSB LP with a 5.26% score reduction.
Finally, in the multi category, the top two scores in the ARRL 10 contest went to two Texas multi-ops, both of which did a fine job keeping their logs fairly error free.
Overall winner Team NX5M lost 2.31% of their score. They lost only 22 contacts of the 2,243 that they claimed and dropped no mults.
Second place NR5M did even better, losing only 1.85% of their claimed score.
